Do you Love working with people?! 

Cosmetology skills are practiced on mannequins as well as live models in our board certified shop. Over this 2-year course you’ll learn to cut and style hair, from the trendiest cuts to classic styles. You’ll learn the chemistry of hair coloring, essential skin care, make-up for daily and theatrical applications, and manicure and pedicure techniques. You’ll practice on mannequins and live models in our Board-Certified shop. You’ll discover what it takes to be a salon owner, and find out where the job opportunities continue to grow. Someday, maybe you’ll work on a cruise ship and travel the seas, you might do runway hair and make-up for models, you could pamper busy clients in a soothing day spa…. there are limitless opportunities in the personal appearance field.  At River Bend you’ll earn approximately half (750) of the required hours for VT/NH state licensure, giving you a jump start when you enter post-secondary training to finish your career prep in the specialization of your choice.

  • Hair:  Haircutting, styling, coloring, perms, men’s styles, ethnic hair, long hair design
  • Skin:  Facials, skin care
  • Make-Up:  Daily and theatrical make-up
  • Manicures: Artificial Nails
  • Other:    Anatomy, State Laws, Salon Management, Sanitation and Safety, Ethics, Chemistry
